Welcome to Canaan Land Ministries. We are all about changing lives. Since 1981, Mac and Sandra, along with their dedicated staff have been seeing God work the miracle of salvation and grace in thousands of lives all over North America and a number of foreign countries. Please allow us to give you a brief overview of the ministry here at Canaan Land.
Canaan Land Bible Training Center ~ Designed especially for men 17 & older who have had some kind of life controlling problems. Many having tried everything else without success and need what only a place like Canaan Land is able to provide. We bring the men to our facility just outside Montgomery, Alabama for one year of intensive Bible training, work skill development and daily discipline. This is all accomplished in an atmosphere of love. We call it, “Direction with Affection.”
Canaan Land Bible Training Center is free of charge to the students and their families. We are funded strictly by the donations of partners and friends.
Evangelistic Outreaches and Meetings ~ Each year Mac rides with the Tribe of Judah Motorcycle Ministry ministering to thousands of outlaw bikers in such places as Sturgis, South Dakota; Daytona Beach, Florida; Gulfport, Mississippi; and others. Mac also ministers the Word at churches, leadership meetings, banquets, and schools, FGBMI and by television. Check our meetings page for a location near you.
Publications Ministry ~ There are a number of Mac's messages on cassette, CD, DVD, and Video. His book “Unchained”, the story of Mac Gober, and other items available for purchase either by writing in or calling our office. Our online store soon to come.
Outreach Vision ~ We have Founded a Canaan Land Bible Training Center in Grand Cayman Islands. They are carrying the vision of reaching troubled young people with the Word of God in that part of the world.
So you can see, when one joins with Canaan Land Ministries as a Covenant Partner, they are literally touching thousands of lives with the message of our Lord Jesus Christ. CANAAN LAND RESIDENT PROGRAM
The one year resident program is designed for men 17 years of age and older, who are presently experiencing some kind of life ~ controlling problem. The students when enrolled are referred to as Bible Students.
The resident program is a spiritual ministry concerned with the whole person-body, soul, and spirit. It endeavors to help the student establish integrity with God, his fellow man, and himself. Luke 2:52
RESIDENT PROGRAM GOALS
To provide an opportunity for students to accept and follow Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
To provide an opportunity to study, understand, and practice Godly principles in every day life as taught in God’s Word.
To provide an understanding of what happens when we violate God’s principles and how to find a place of restoration when we do.
To provide an understanding of how to deal with life controlling problems and how to prevent them according to God’s Word.
To provide an opportunity for the students to develop Christ like character and the Fruit of the Spirit; by attending Bible classes, living with other students who have similar problems, daily work details both good work habits and attitudes and proper relating to Canaan Land leadership, staff and visiting ministers and friends.
EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNTIES
Bible Classes ~ All students attend three (3) Bible classes a day. Five (5) days a week. These classes are designed to give the student a strong foundation in living by faith, covenant relationship with Jesus and watching your confession, as well as many other life principles outlined in God’s Word.
GED ~ Preparation, training and pre-testing will be offered to all students who have not received a high school diploma. Costs of final test will be the student’s responsibility.
PASSES/LEAVES
On special occasions such as immediate family weddings, funerals, etc. a student may leave accompanied by a Canaan Land Staff member. The student and/or his family must pay all expenses incurred by the Canaan Land Staff member.
Work/Trade Skills Development
As opportunities become available, students are given the chance to work with skilled craftsman at Canaan Land. These opportunities may include auto/mechanics, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, carpentry, furniture building and refinishing, swimming pool maintenance, lawn care and landscaping, among others.
Students will be assigned work duties four to five (4-5) hours a day, Monday thru Friday, along with a couple of Saturdays per month.
These work duties are assigned not only to help maintain the facilities at Canaan Land but also to help train and develop the student’s attitude and work ethic. They are also designed to help the students develop a sense of “ownership” and pride in the facility they will call home for the next twelve- (12) months.
